Your documents

Simplified keeps documents as ordinary Markdown files in the folder you choose. Document contents, filenames, and folder names are not sent to Simplified’s analytics service.

Anonymous app activity

When enabled, the app reports a one-time first-open event and at most one active-day event per calendar day. Each event includes the app version and whether the app came from the direct download or Mac App Store. Events use independent random retry identifiers, not a persistent device or installation identifier. This can be disabled in Preferences.

Website analytics

The Simplified website measures aggregate visits and download clicks using a self-hosted analytics service. It does not use advertising trackers.

Feedback

If you send feedback, the message, optional email address, and app details shown on the form are stored privately for review and replies. You can omit your email address.

Retention and deletion

Anonymous app activity and submitted feedback are retained for no longer than 24 months. To ask for feedback associated with your email address to be deleted sooner, send a request using that same address.

AI features

AI features run only when you choose to use them. The relevant text is sent directly to the provider you configure, subject to that provider’s privacy terms. API keys are encrypted using the macOS Keychain.
